Three days in Porto

Day 1 – Fátima, Coimbra and Porto

Pick up at the hotel. Drive to Fátima to visit the Sanctuary and the Chapel of our Lady. Built on the site where our Lady appeared to the shepherds back in 1917.

Alternatively visit to the Abbey of Santa Maria da Vitória (Batalha Monastery), a masterpiece of the Portuguese Gothic architecture from the 14th century.

Then continue to the majestic city of Coimbra, once capital of Portugal and birthplace of the first University in our country. Visit to the University and Santa Clara Church.

Lunch and some free time.

After lunch continue towards Porto, stopping at Vista Alegre Museum, one of the oldest ceramic factories in the world.

Arrival at Porto by the end of the afternoon.

Day 2 – Porto

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning at leisure.

Pick up at the hotel before lunch.

Lunch at a fine restaurant overlooking the Douro River. Afterwards tour of Porto, passing by the riverside quarter of Ribeira, most typical, and the downtown, with its churches, glazed tile panels and exciting commerce.

By the end of the afternoon cross one of the bridges over the river to Gaia, for a visit of the famous Port wine cellars, followed by a wine tasting session.

Return to the hotel.

Day 3 – Porto, Vigo and Braga

Breakfast at the hotel.

Pick up and departure to Vigo.

Stop at Braga, the ecclesiastical capital of Portugal, worth a visit to its historical centre.

End of services.
